STRIPES Fund

About STRIPES

GNSF strives to provide equity for all students and remove barriers to school participation by financially supporting students who want to participate in school-sponsored co-curricular and/or extra-curricular activities (not funded by the District) and are unable due to financial constraints of their family/parents/guardians. For additional information, please click the link below to contact Liz Hansen, GNSF Executive Director.

STRIPES stands for Supporting Technology, Resources, Innovation, and Participation for Every Student. STRIPES Funds are available for any student in the GNCSD. This fund seeks to remove financial barriers related to academic needs, program fees, equipment needs, and transportation costs.

In 2020, GNSF supported kids and families who did not have home wifi. Wifi and technology assistance is still available through the STRIPES Fund, and this fund will also assist low-income students with testing fees (ACT, AP) and fees for technology repair, library fees, and lost textbooks. Another component of the STRIPES Fund is removing barriers to student participation in extracurricular activities. For example, a student who lacks equipment (shoes, special clothing, tennis racket, ball glove, etc) to participate in an activity or sport may receive funding from STRIPES. Sponsors of students who are unable to pay registration fees for school-sponsored activities in FFA, Speech, Thespians, Music, Art, and other activities & trips are also encouraged to apply on their behalf.

Teachers, counselors, coaches, administrators, GNSF Advisory Committee members, and GNSF student board members are encouraged to apply on behalf of a student in need via this Google Form: GNSF STRIPES Fund Request Form.
